5 Reasons Why you'd use a Drone to add value to your business.
They're the talk of the town. They come in all shapes, sizes and price tags. They have capabilities not seen before 'off the shelf' - literally. There's no doubt however, that complex drone technology is both accessible and affordable for most businesses. There are companies out there who will tell you that drones are the heaven sent answer to all your needs. They are a great tool, but like all good tools, they are better suited to some jobs more than others. So why would you use a drone and licensed operator to add value to your business?
Here are 5 reasons: 1. REDUCE RISK One of the simplest and most straightforward reasons is to reduce the risk to personnel by reducing the need to work at great heights. Drones will not necessarily eliminate entirely the need for high-access equipment and specialist personnel. There's no doubt however, that any equipment capable of providing High-Definition images at a height of up to 400ft can provide significant cost savings and risk reduction in making your initial assessments, prior to commissioning further work. 2. REDUCE COSTS
Simple really. Drones are significantly cheaper to operate than conventional Helicopters.
It's a case of horses for courses, but if it's low altitude work you're looking for Drones are smaller, more flexible, can get in 'close and personal' and are often much quicker to deploy. 3. MORE ACCURATE DATA Because Drones cost substantially less per hour to operate than helicopters, a shorter timeline of regular aerial surveys is possible - giving your business the ability to monitor assets more closely and regularly. 4. QUICKER INSPECTIONS THAT CAN MINIMISE DOWNTIME Drones can complete more asset inspections per day than ground crews and, in some cases, conventional aircraft. This enables more inspections per day using less personnel hours. This shorter inspection time can also minimise the shut down of operations for routine maintenance inspections. 5. REPEATABLE DATA Geo-tagged aerial data can be used to create orthomosaics, digital elevation models, and 3D models allowing for accurate planning and recording. This data collection can be replicated accurately time after time due to the ability to retain flight plans and routes. The data is also easily incorporated into GIS systems.
